ARSENAL WORKING AT THE BACKGROUND

Premier League side Arsenal are working quietly in the background to get their targets for this summer, according to reports.

Fans are starting to fear that the club might fail to get their ambitious targets and that the club would settle for just available ones or go into panic purchase.

This has been the story of the club for many years. The transfer policies have left the club in stagnation for many years. There are reports that the coach Arsene Wenger is confident he can lure French teenage star KylianMbappe to the Emirates, even though it remains at best a very ambitious plan.

Arsenal are yet linked to their perennial target Alexandre Lacazette. The player is open to leaving Lyon after another incredible year but his top interest Atletico Madrid would not be able to employ him due to their transfer ban. Arsenal are hoping the player would come bail them in attack, while the club sorts out the deals for Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez (likely sale or loan).

Arsenal is still bidding for Leicester City winger RiyadMahrez. After an underwhelming season at the King Power Stadium, the Algeria international is looking to exit the side. He would be an upgrade from Theo Walcott, who West Ham are hoping to sign this summer. Arsenal would have to beat competition for the player as Liverpool, Barcelona and Chelsea are also interested.

Arsenal have submitted a €35 million bid for Thomas Lemar but Monaco have reportedly rejected it, expecting the Gunners to up their offer. Also, there are reports that the Gunners are also interested in Jean Michael Seri.

For now the club prefers to work in the background to get their targets. Hopefully the club can get key targets else the 2011/12 season would repeat itself where the panic bought Yossi Bernayoun, MikelArteta, Andre Santos, Per Mertesacker and Park Chu-Young.
