BENAYOUN UNSURE ON FUTURE

Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun has said that he will be making a decision on his future in the coming weeks. The midfielder has been on loan at Arsenal this season. He was initially expected to be a reserve player at Arsenal, but he has surprised everyone by becoming a first team regular in the final few months of the campaign.

The Israeli himself expressed that he did not expect to be first-team regular at Arsenal. There have been rumours that Arsenal will be interested in converting the loan deal into a permanent one due to the fact that he is one of the experienced members of the squad.

However, the former Liverpool midfielder has revealed that he will be sitting down with his advisers over the next few weeks in order to determine his next destination. It is unlikely to be Chelsea given the way he has not featured for the club in his few years at Stamford Bridge.

He was initially expected to be the ammunition for Fernando Torres after he had a great partnership with the Spaniard during the Liverpool days. However, he failed to establish himself in the Chelsea squad and was ultimately sent out on loan by former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas.

“Since I came to Arsenal I have always been committed to one club until the last game of the season. The only thing I want is for Arsenal to finish in third place, I don’t care about anything else. When I finish I will have to decide about my future. I am supposed to go back to Chelsea first and then we will see what the future holds. I finish here in a good way. In the last few months I have been more involved. Of course you want to play and you want to enjoy it and I think I have played a big part in the last few games,” he told reporters.
