FREE TO MOVE

After being released from Chelsea in the summer, Israeli international Yossi Benayoun has been searching for a new club in the last few months.

However, his efforts have not been fruitful so far. The 33-year-old, though, could be set for a move to West Brom in the next few days after his agent has revealed that the Premier league outfit are interested in him. After an impressive debut season as a manager, Steve Clarke is hoping to repeat the feat of last season.

However, the former Chelsea assistant manager is already without a number of key players who perform exceptionally well last season. Romelu Lukaku is one of the players who will not be available for his disposal because the Belgian striker has returned to his parent club Chelsea after his loan spell came to an end. In order to replace his goals, West Brom have recently brought in former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka on a one-year contract.

The striker was available on a free transfer after his short-term contract with Juventus came to an end. Now, West Brom are looking for yet another deal to strengthen the team. Benayoun has huge experience of playing in the Premier league after he has represented West Ham, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal in the last decade.

“West Brom have registered their interest and now we are just waiting to see what other options are available. We have been negotiating with another club in the Premier League and clubs in Germany and Spain, so Yossi will have to make a decision very soon. He has been playing in England for a long time now so it has become like a second home to him,” said the player’s agent. Yossi Benayoun moved to Chelsea from Liverpool a few years ago for around £ 5 million.
